The Town of West Hartford’s Indigenous People’s Recognition and Reconciliation Task Force and the Office of Equity Advancement invite you to join us for the Celebration of Indigenous Peoples’ History and Culture. The events will take place October 2-7, 2023. See flyer below for locations. Some events are virtual.

 The schedule of events includes:

Monday, October 2nd: Virtual Author Talk with Native American Author, Marcie Rendon, 6:30pm - 8:00pm. Register here.

 Tuesday, October 3rd: Hidden History Lecture with Dr. Tracey Wilson: Addressing Indigenous Erasure in our Local Community at the Noah Webster at 6:30pm - 7:30pm. Register here.

Wednesday, October 4th: Native American Beading Workshop for kids in Grades 3-6 at the Noah Webster Children's Library, 3:30pm - 4:15pm. Register here.

 Thursday, October 5th: Understanding Land Acknowledgments virtual lecture presented by Lorén Spears, Executive Director of the Tomaquag Museum at 7pm-8pm. Get Zoom link here.

 Saturday, October 7th: The Thunderbird American Indian Dancers perform at First Church Auditorium, 12 South Main Street, at 2:30pm. Free admission. RSVP here.
